Hey all. I know a girl from college who is posting on social media that she’s a doctor. I know for a fact she’s not. Her timeline is impossible, all of her listed experiences on LinkedIn are fake (the organizations don’t exist), the university she “goes to” keeps changing, she posted AI-generated images of her in a white coat, and I could not find her on any state licensure registries or the NPI registry. (She is also dumb as rocks, but that’s beside the point.)
She claims she’s an OBGYN Resident. She posted medical advice online (stating that pregnant people should take Tylenol- which I agree with, but also beside the point) and signing it as “sincerely, an OBGYN resident.” My question is: is there anything I should do? Any agency or body I should report this to? She can play pretend all she wants, but now that she’s posting “medical advice” it’s crossed a line for me. Thanks for any help.
