Florida passed a state law that goes into effect December 1 that requires any physician or APP who diagnoses or treats uterine fibroids to upload information to a state database. There is no opt-out for patients , since it is a mandatory reportable condition. The way the law reads now the physician or APP must enter the information although there is an option for bulk uploading. The database has over 50 discrete fields, most of them required, including country of origin, family history, size of the fibroid, fertility history, every treatment attempted, and significant demographic data. Does anyone work in a state that requires something similar for a benign condition, and if so, how did you deal with the database entry requirements? Thanks.
